SINDICATO

How We Protect You

Plain answers about what is public, what is private and what we cannot promise.

Will anyone know it was me?

Your email is never shown publicly, and your name appears only partially redacted on the Cases wall. You can also use a pseudonym. Your story itself is public, so leave out details only you would know, such as exact locations or the names of colleagues. Anyone who knows the facts may still guess who wrote it.

Can the company find out who I am?

Not from Sindicato, unless you choose to share it. We do not give companies your real name or email, and nobody can pay for access to your identity. Sindicato is free for everyone. If you tick the option to be contacted, a company can write to you through an anonymized alias address. If you reply from your own email program, they may see your real address, so reply only if you are comfortable. You never have to reply.

Can immigration authorities access my information?

We do not voluntarily share your data with any authority and we have no connection to immigration enforcement. We are based in the EU and subject to GDPR. If we receive a legally binding order we may be required to respond, and we can only hand over the data described in our privacy policy. Your story is public, so anyone, including authorities, can read it.

Do I need an account or ID?

You do not need a password or any ID. When you submit, you verify your email address with a one-time code, which creates a simple account so you can see your cases. Your case should still be truthful: you attest that what you write is accurate.

What if my English is not good?

Write in your own language. Sindicato machine-translates cases so others can read them, and translations can contain mistakes. The "story tips" button in the form suggests missing details. It never rewrites your words.

Is my story processed by AI?

Yes. AI suggests tags, helps with summaries and translations, and powers the Clerk assistant for approved companies, lawyers and media. Text is sent to AI providers through OpenRouter, with a request that they do not store or train on it. AI can be wrong, so treat its output as a suggestion.

Is my case stored securely?

Data travels over HTTPS and is stored on managed infrastructure with access controls. It is not end-to-end encrypted, which means Sindicato's operators can technically read it. We do not sell data and we do not run advertising.

Is it free?

Yes. Sindicato is free for everyone: workers, companies, lawyers, media and institutions. Nobody can pay to see more, to contact you or to remove a case. Voluntary donations are welcome on the donate page.

Using a shared or monitored device

The red Quick exit button (or pressing Escape three times) replaces this page with a weather search. It removes the page from this tab's history, but it does not erase history your browser already saved and it cannot hide the tab from someone who is watching. Private or incognito windows help more.

Clear this device signs you out and deletes everything Sindicato stored in this browser: the filing draft saved while you type, cached translations and the offline page cache. It does not delete cases you already filed (withdraw those from your account page).
